Dr. Kane graduated from MIT with degrees in Biology and Nuclear Engineering before earning her medical degree from UCSF. She completed her medical and surgical internship in San Diego and her Dermatology residency at Duke University, where she was Chief Resident. Prior to returning to the Bay Area, she served as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Duke University Medical Center where she taught cosmetic dermatology. She has also been featured in news and educational media discussing skin health topics including sun protection, acne, and skin cancer.  She is an advisor to the technology industry and supports local schools with educational sun safety programs.
